Handcrafted fun

Tired of seeing everyone sitting around peering at their smartphones? Well, these toys and games will get them up and rediscovering how fun it is to just … play! Everything I make is sturdy and made to last. Think about your favorite bar, senior center, playground, park … and family events like reunions, parties, and kids’ areas at public events—I’ll bet they can all use some of these games and toys. Take a look and let’s talk!

Give me a call at 919-809-9682 if you’d like to make an order (including custom orders). Play House Toys (702 Ninth St, 919-286-1317) carries my bow + arrows and bottle shooters; Donna will be happy to accommodate you!

Bow + arrow sets

These PVC bows can take an adult’s pull—I make ’em tough and use military paracord instead of plain string. The blunted and foam-wrapped arrow tips make sure that they’re safe for kids. There’s a wide, wide range of colors and designs. Let me know what color scheme you have in mind. You get one bow and two arrows.

Ladderball

Ladderball is superfun to play, either alone (with one goal) or with friends (using both goals). Great for bars, family reunions, senior centers, playgrounds, and parties! I use the term “ladderball” instead of “laddergolf” because everyone else who makes these games use golfballs. I use rubber balls. In field tests with real kids, my suspicion that they’d walk into the path of thrown balls came true. Hearing them giggle and laugh let me know that I made the right choice. You get two goals and two sets of bolo balls.

$60
The middle bar is white. Your choice of colors for the other two bars are: blue, black, green orange, purple, red, and yellow. Order your school or sorority/fraternity colors!

Balloon shooters

These colorful, low-velocity shooters use balloons to propel a lightweight stick with a nonremovable rubber eraser on the end (for safety). Balloon shooters are great for little kids who are too small to play with bows + arrows. You get one shooter, three darts, and two extra balloons.

$5
Because there‘s such a wide array of colors, you can only choose the handle color (pick from black, blue, bronze, brown, green, orange, purple, red, silver, or yellow).

Bottle shooters

Kids of all ages love these shooters that never ever run out of ammo because they shoot empty water—with a puff of air! They’re both safe and fun, and come in a variety of colors.

Calf Staff™decorative walking sticks

Not toys, obviously, but my first attempt at crafts way back during my college days involved using a self-taught yarn-weaving technique to decorate bamboo poles. These colorful sticks are sturdy and made of wood; you can walk or hike with these, or use them to decorate your home or office. Choose your school or sorority/fraternity colors or request walking sticks designed with your favorite colors—I even have rainbow yarn, which makes for a gorgeous, vibrantly colored work of art!

I am now selling Calf Staffs on eBay; click here to see my listing.

Clothespin lady

This lovely lady is made from a vintage clothespin, and is true wearable art! There’s a pin on the back that allows you to fasten her to your clothes. My friend Sylvia Marrero in Chicago crafts these and is so busy she doesn't have time to sell them. So I’m selling them for her. Each pin is unique—some come adorned with a bit of “bling” costume jewelry!
